Woman dead after camper fire at Shelbyville campground

Shelbyville, IL (WAND) – A woman is dead following a camper fire in Shelbyville early Friday afternoon.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a camper fire just before 12:30 p.m. March 6 at the Robin Hood Woods Campgrounds.

After putting out the fire, firefighters found a woman’s body inside.

The camper was in a permanent campsite at the campground.

An investigation is ongoing, but the Sheriff’s Office confirmed there is “no ongoing threat” to the community.

No other details are available.
