Video released of fatal crash involving an Illinois State Trooper

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Illinois State Police have released the video of a crash which caused the death of a Springfield man.

The video was first released to the family of 45-year-old Charles Henderson before being made public.

Around 2:30 the morning of April 25, an Illinois State Police Trooper was travelling south on South 6th Street approaching the green light at the intersection of Linton Avenue when the car struck Henderson, who was bent down in the roadway.

Troopers on scene rendered aid to Henderson until EMS arrived. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.

State Police Officials say Troopers had encountered Henderson in the street earlier that night and warned him to stay out of the road.
