Victim identified in fatal Springfield motorcycle accident

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Sangamon County Coroner’s office has identified the victim in a car-versus-motorcycle crash Monday night.

Zach Thomas, Chief Sangamon County Deputy Coroner, says it was Charles Laughlin, 58, was pronounced dead Monday at 10:29 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

That’s where Laughlin was taken after the crash Monday night involving his motorcycle and a car on Wabash Ave.

Springfield Police have not released details of the crash, which is said to remain under investigation.

An autopsy, according to Thomas, shows Laughlin died from multiple blunt force injuries.
