Taylorville man sentenced on 2024 child porn charges

Taylorville, IL (WAND) – A Taylorville man who was arrested on child pornography charges in May of 2024 has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Jeffrey Dyer was found guilty on one count of class 1 child pornography. He received 14 of a maximum 15 year sentence, followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Dyer was also ordered to pay a $15,000 fine.

On May 29, 2024, Taylorville police executed a search warrant at an apartment and arrested Dyer on multiple offenses including child pornography possession, distribution, and grooming.

Dyer appeared in person in an open court.
