Taylorville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Taylorville man has been ordered to remain held in the Christian County Jail after he allegedly stabbed someone over the weekend.

Court records and Taylorville Police indicate Jacob Gray, 19, is facing charges of Home Invasion, a Class X felony, and Aggravated Domestic Battery, a Class 2 felony.

Police say they responded Sunday to a home they did not disclose, for a report of a stabbing.  Officers say they quickly identified Gray was the suspect and arrested him.

Details about the victim, and that person’s condition, are not available.

According to court records, a judge Wednesday ordered Gray to stay behind bars because of a past history of violent threats, making him “a real and present threat to the victim and to the community,” and has also refused mental health treatment medication.

A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Monday, December 22, at 10:00 a.m.

“Thank you to Platoon A for their outstanding work, and to State’s Attorney John McWard and the State’s Attorney’s Office for assisting with the charging process,” said a social media statement from Taylorville Police.
