Springfield man dead following crash near Jacksonville

Jacksonville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man is dead after his motorcycle crashed early Saturday morning in Morgan County.

According to a news release, Morgan County Coroner Marcy Patterson said, Jeffrey Conn, 43, was pronounced dead after the crash around 3:00 a.m. Saturday on Old State Road near Wallbaum Road near Jacksonville and unincorporated Arcadia.

Patterson said Conn was travelling westbound when his motorcycle left the roadway and went into a ditch.

An investigation into the crash continues by both the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department and Patterson’s office.
