Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield man is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl multiple times.

Carmaine McBride, 36, appeared in court Thursday on multiple charges of Criminal Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Abuse.

Our news partners at WAND-TV report McBride had sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13 multiple times, according to her mother.

A judge ordered McBride to remain in the Sangamon County Jail. He’ll be back in court August 28th.
