Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying suspect in gun-related incident near gas station

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect who fired a gun shot into the air at a local gas station.

Officials say the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at the Qik N EZ, 1101 Stevenson Drive.  Investigators believe the man made a purchase inside the store, and then exiting, walking east.

Officials say the man is then shown on surveillance video displaying a gun, pointing it into the air, then walking through the rear parking lot, when he fired it once into the air before putting it back in his pocked, fleeing northbound toward Cottonwood Street.
