SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – What’s described as an “international phenomenon” will be making its way to Springfield next year.

The University of Illinois Springfield’s Performing Arts Center says in a news release that “RIVERDANCE” will be performing there April 25, 2027.  Tickets will go on sale this Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m.; however, “FRIENDS OF UIS” members will get an early chance to buy tickets Tuesday.

The Springfield stop of what is being called “RIVERDANCE 30 – The New Generation” is one of 47 in North America between January and May of next year, and will feature traditional and contemporary dance acts.

“This new generation of extraordinary talent brings incredible energy, passion and skill to the stage, and I have no doubt they will blow audiences away,” said  John McColgan, Director of “RIVERDANCE,” in a news release.  “With breathtaking music, exhilarating dance, exceptional stagecraft and all the magic that has made Riverdance so beloved, this tour promises to be a truly unforgettable experience. We look forward to welcoming our lifelong fans back to Riverdance, as well as introducing new audiences to the energy, spirit and spectacle of Riverdance.”

Tickets range in price from $39 to $179.
