Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Allison Lacher, Director of the UIS Visual Arts Gallery, Spoke on the WTAX Morning Newswatch about its upcoming silent auction.
The internet-based auction is being held to celebrate the gallery’s 50-year anniversary, and it will be online until December 4. You can visit the gallery for the on the ground exhibition between December 1 and December 4, but you should make sure that if you plan on bidding, you take a look into the online auction website first, as all bids have to be in by December 4.
“We have been a consistent source for Contemporary Art in Springfield, and the greater region of Central Illinois for a long time” Stated Lacher “We really will have a spectrum of options, such as paintings, print making, glass, mixed media, jewelry, and photography. We’ve got all of that on our online auction site currently, and we are featuring a lot of beloved local artists.” Lacher added.
Lacher is proud to say the Visual Arts Gallery has been around for 50 years already, and “looks forward to another 50 years to come.”
You can visit the Visual Arts Gallery in person to see all of the awesome sculptures, and other great contemporary art pieces. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 11 am to 6, and is located at 1 University Dr, Bluff Junction, IL 62025
