One person dead following fire in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – One person is dead after a fire in Jacksonville.

The Morgan County Coroner says the fire happened around 6 p.m. Thursday on Walnut Street.

A 66-year-old man was found inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is not yet being released.

No word on the extent of the fire.

An autopsy on the man will be done.
