New owner of BUNN: ‘Business as usual’; will be part of company division with ‘operational independence’

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – “An important milestone for BUNN as it enters its next chapter of growth.”

That’s part of a new statement sent to WTAX News/CapitolCityNow from the Ali Group — the company that announced last Thursday it was purchasing Bunn Commercial, after five generations of family ownership.

Ali Group says while the ownership structure is changing, so far, nothing else will change for BUNN — at least in terms of customer service.

“Both organizations are aligned in their commitment to quality, innovation and a customer-first approach,” said the statement.  “With the expertise and resources of Ali Group and Welbilt, BUNN will be even better positioned to serve its customers and capitalize on attractive growth opportunities as it continues its momentum globally.”

They do say BUNN will work closely with Ali Group “throughout the integration process” — but says it otherwise will be business as usual.

Bunn will become part of Ali Group’s “Welbilt” division of food service equipment.  The company says Welbilt is an unique part of the company.

Ali Group is the parent company of Welbilt and operates with a decentralized management model that allows its companies to maintain a high degree of operational independence while benefiting from the scale and resources of the Group,” said the statement.

No announcements have been made, one way or the other, about the workforce at BUNN, which employs more than 800 as its plant on Stevenson Drive, and also has a corporate headquarters building.

“In short, it remains business as usual at BUNN,” the statement concluded.
