More info on new charges filed against former Leland Grove Police Chief

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – We’re learning more about the new charges recently filed against now-former Leland Grove Police Chief Daniel Ryan.

Ryan was arrested in February for Domestic Battery and Driving Under the Influence charges.

Now, our news partners at WAND-TV report Ryan is being charged with theft, misapplication of funds, and official misconduct.

Charges filed allege between June of 2018 and the end of February of this year, Ryan stole between $10,000 and $100,000 worth of goods, services, or funds from the city, and used them for personal means.

Ryan has a court date scheduled for August 13. He’s not currently in jail.
