SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce continues to put on events all around Springfield. Mike Murphy, CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, was a guest on the WTAX Morning Newswatch discussing all the upcoming events.

“Chamber on Tap“, which is a part of our evening events, is going to be November 12th. It’s going to be at Kunes Toyota. And, you know, they’ve done a lot of renovations. They just opened a couple months ago from their renovations. That’s reason enough to go out, but also to see the changes that the new ownership has. Mylas Copeland, who operates that, is the chairman of the board for the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. Now, he seems very positive about the future.”

On November 17th, the Chamber will host its annual Economic Lookout Breakfast with a special guest coming to Springfield.

“Curtis Dubay, who’s the Chief Economist for the U.S. Chamber, and he’s out of Washington, D.C., he will come out and give us an update. I can’t wait to hear what he says, because one of the challenges, not only he has, but anybody in business is uncertainty. I’m going to be anxious to hear what he thinks. You know, last year, at the Economic Outlook Breakfast, we talked a lot about tariffs and the problems there. To be honest with you, tariffs are even in the top two or three problems right now.”
