Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Meet Storm.

She is a gentle, affectionate 5-year-old brown-and-white tabby with a soft heart and an independent streak. She’s a true sweetheart once she feels comfortable, showing her love through quiet companionship, subtle cuddles, and calm presence rather than constant attention-seeking.

While Storm can be a bit standoffish at first, that reserve is part of her charm—she prefers to observe before engaging and values her personal space. Storm tends to form strong bonds on her own terms, making her affection feel especially meaningful when she chooses to share it.

Overall, she’s a balanced mix of warmth and independence—a calm, loyal companion who loves deeply, just not always loudly. She’s available for foster or adoption at the Animal Protective League, located at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We are open every day from noon to 5 p.m
