Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Buddy is a 2-year-old brindle Lab Retriever mix with a big heart and even bigger energy!

This sweet boy is full of enthusiasm for life and loves to run, play, and explore. Buddy is very outgoing and friendly with new people. He’s always up for an adventure and would thrive with an active person / family who can keep up with his playful spirit. Buddy would probably be best suited to a home without very small children. He does get along with other dogs so if you have a dog and are looking to add to your pack we encourage a slow introduction to see if there is compatibility.

Buddy is still working on his leash skills and would benefit from some positive training and guidance to help him be his best self. Buddy knows how to sit, lay down, and will shake on command. Buddy is infatuated with the game of fetch and will retrieve his ball on command and always brings it back and drops it at your feet. Buddy is very trainable! When playtime is over Buddy is content to lay on your feet or up against you on the couch as your loyal BFF. With a little patience and a lot of love, Buddy is sure to become a loyal and fun-loving companion for life.

Come meet him at the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We’re open every day from noon to 5 p.m. Ask to get him out of his kennel to see his true personality!
