Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week was brought to the shelter on January 5th as a stray. This pretty girl has been waiting three months to meet the people who will give her love and a home of her own.

Birdie is a one year old lab mix. She’s a nice dog who loves to be out in the play yard. She especially loves to play fetch. Birdie is a good walker on the leash and knows the sit command. She’s an active young dog who would be a great companion for walking and hiking. Are you looking for a best friend for outdoor adventures? Come on out to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center and meet Birdie, She’s available for foster and adoption,

The kennels at SCACAC are full of good dogs like Birdie that need a chance at a new life. Every foster and adoption opens kennel space for another dog in need. If you have space in your heart and home for a new family member please come meet the adoptable dogs during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
