Staunton, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Three employees of law enforcement agencies are facing criminal charges for allegedly assaulting a man in a bar over the weekend.

It happened in Montgomery County, early Saturday morning, at Skeeter’s bar in Staunton. The victim told Staunton Police he believes Logan Hemp, Joshua Revisky, and Jeffery Schoen beat him up.

All three were arrested Monday and because of employment conflicts, taken to the jail in Montgomery County, where they were eventually released.

Staunton Police say the Macoupin County State’s Attorney is seeking a special prosecutor.

Hemp and Revisky are Macoupin County employees,  and Sheriff Shawn Kahl says the two have been put on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.  It’s not clear if it’s paid leave.

Schoen is a Bunker Hill Police officer. His status is unknown.

EDITOR’S NOTE:  This story has been corrected to reflect that two of the suspects are employees of Macoupin County, instead of sheriff’s deputies.  CapitolCityNow regrets the error.
