Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – At Tuesday night’s Springfield District 186 School Board meeting, incoming Superintendent Terence Jordan named two of his staff picks, when he takes the helm from Jennifer Gill in July.

Dr. Erica Filipiak, who has been serving as Director of College and Career Readiness and School Leadership will head up the district’s multi-tier support services program. She cited Dr. Nicole Moody, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and School Culture as one of her mentors. Filipak says she has learned a lot from her mentors and will probably still be reaching out to them with questions in her new role.

Jordan also announced Enos Elementary Principal Claudia Johnson as the new Director of Community and Family Engagement. He mentioned working with Johnson at both Feitshans and Enos elementary schools, and everything he learned around community and family engagement, he learned from Johnson.

Johnson says the new role will allow her to take the very things she has loved most about being a principal – partnering with families, uplifting communities, and mentoring fellow educators, and expand that impact across the entire district.

Johnson has 15 years serving as principal at Enos Elementary.
