Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Starting May 1st, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources reservation and permit website – exploremoreil.com – will roll out some new upgrades making it more user-friendly.

Existing reservations will automatically migrate to the new platform and will be required to use the same customer email to access reservations. Customers will need to create a new account and password in the new system.

One improvement forthcoming is, picnic shelters will be available on the 12-month rolling window, instead of the previous July 1st deadline.

The current system will be unavailable April 27th – 30th; however, customers will be able to make walk-up reservations at campgrounds as availability allows.

Existing customers should watch their inbox for an email from IDNR with further instructions.
