MOWEAQUA, Ill. (WAND) – No such thing as a free lunch? FFA students from Central A&M High School made sure farmers are getting a free lunch while moving crops to elevators in Moweaqua and Assumption.

“We do this every single year,” FFA senior Isabella Martin told WAND News. “Farming is a really important part of our community.”

The FFA students handed out lunch bags as trucks left grain elevators. Other lunches were provided to farm workers who drove up in vehicles to bring meals back to the fields.

The lunch bags contained pork burgers, chips, a cookie and trail mix. A bottle of water was also included.
