Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 60-year-old woman is dead after a car crash on Wabash Avenue.

Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says the woman was pronounced dead at the scene during the afternoon hours Tuesday.

Her identity hasn’t yet been released. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Allman says an investigation by his office continues.  The woman’s vehicle was the only one involved.
