Stonington, IL (WAND) – Illinois State Police are investigating after a death in Stonington Thursday night.

ISP confirmed with WAND News that they were requested by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office around 8 p.m. to conduct a death investigation in the 700 block of 2000 North Street.

It is unclear if the death is considered suspicious or a homicide case.

State police said they cannot share any more information at this time to “protect the integrity of the investigation.”

Stonington is in Christian County, about 20 miles southwest of Decatur.
