Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A man from Kenney, Ill., is jailed in Sangamon County after his arrest on child pornography charges. A news release from the Illinois attorney general‘s office says Christian Lane (pictured), 29, faces one count of production of child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography with a victim under age thirteen, and four counts of failure to register as a sex offender. If convicted of all charges and sentenced to consecutive maximum terms, he would face 63 years in prison.

Springfield police were involved in an investigation of several weeks, according to the news release, culminating in the discovery of child sex abuse images on Lane’s phone.

The news release quotes Attorney General Kwame Raoul as saying, “Child exploitation is a horrendous crime that leaves life-long scars on survivors and their families. My office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to track down and hold accountable those who exploit children.”
