Chatham fire department to receive over $90k in federal funding

Chatham, IL (WAND) – Federal dollars are coming to Illinois fire departments.

Illinois Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski announced over $780,000 for departments in Central and Southern Illinois, which will also include the Village of Chatham, which is getting over $90,000 in funding.

The funding is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s assistance to firefighters grant program.

Budzinski said that the money will help make sure first responders have the equipment, training and technology to stay safe on the job.
