(CAPITOL CITY NOW) = The former Springfield television host who left WICS-TV after eulogizing conservative voice Charlie Kirk during her Marketplace program is throwing her support behind Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey.

Beni Harmony (pictured) says she was suspended, though the television station disputes that.

“Darren and his wife, Cindy, were one of the first people to reach out to me when WICS did what they did,” Harmony said at Bailey’s Oak Brook kickoff Thursday. “He reached out to me and said he was praying for me. Does (Gov.) JB Pritzker pray for us? Does JB Pritzker even know what a Bible is? Does he know the foundation of our country? God. Family. Country.”

Pritzker, the two-term incumbent and a Democrat, is Jewish.

Bailey, one of at least three Republicans for governor in the March 17, 2026 primary, was the runner-up to Pritzker in 2022.
