Beardstown, IL (WAND) – Police arrested a Beardstown man after they said he shot a gun outside his home Friday.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Adams Street for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they heard the shots and saw a man enter a home and refuse to leave. Two others left the home, leaving the man inside.

According to the sheriff’s department, police set up a perimeter around the home and got a search warrant.

After several hours, police said a man, who they do not know the name of yet, was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm and disorderly conduct.

The incident is still under investigation.
