1 dead after head-on crash near Lincoln

Lincoln, IL (WAND) – A 54-year-old Saybrook man was killed in a head-on crash near Lincoln, according to the Logan County Coroner’s Office.

The crash happened on U.S. Route 66 near 1500th Avenue. The coroner’s office and Illinois State Police are investigating.

The man was taken to Lincoln Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

The other driver was taken to an area hospital. Their condition has not been released.

The victim’s name is being withheld until family members are notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, at the McLean County Regional Medical Facility.
