A local bank is announcing another merger with another bank.
Chatham-based United Community Bank says it’s completed the acquisition of Liberty Bank, based in Madison County, and with branches in Alton, Godfrey, and Bethalto.
Last year UCB merged with Illini Bank, in a deal that’s final but computer systems are still being merged.
The UCB-Liberty merger adds what the bank says is $321 million in assets, bring the total there to two and half billion, along with an expanded regional footprint.
