Small Business Development Center Moves to LLCC Springfield Campus

One of the arms of Lincoln Land Community College that helps in economic development has a new home as of Tuesday.

The college’s Illinois Small Business Development Center is now open at Montgomery Hall on the Springfield campus, instead of in a spot on the Old State Capitol Plaza.

“It has been a very good location for many years. This is a fiscally-responsible decision to use space that we have available on campus,” says college spokesperson Lynn Whalen.

Whalen says the move may be one that works out much better in the long run.

“We think this is a real advantage to having the center on our campus, because the clients now have access to the resources of the college, including the library and the computer labs,” says Whalen. “We have ample free parking. We have space for consultations, and SMTD buses run regularly to campus.”

The hours of the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and its website, will remain the same.  The phone number will change to 786-4530.
