The Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s office says charges have been filed in connection with an active pipe bomb found downtown July 28th.
Bradford Moss is accused of placing a pipe bomb in downtown Springfield in July to try blowing up an ATM; he’s also accused of trying to rob a Marine Bank a week later.
Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser says he was picked up on the latter charges.
“He was apprehended in Las Vegas, Nevada on a warrant for the aggravated robbery case and brought back to Springfield,” Milhiser says. “The charges of possession of an explosive device were levied against him today.”
Both the aggravated robbery and possession of an explosive device carry up to a 30-year prison sentence. Moss has been charged and convicted of crimes in both Cook and Sangamon Counties and has spent time in prison, mainly due to drug offenses.
