Former radio personality “One-Eyed Jack” passes away


Radio personality Donald “One-Eyed Jack” Jackson passed away Friday evening following a brief illness at St. John’s Hospital.

He was known throughout Central Illinois as a boisterous, outspoken radio talk show host and the owner and operator of The Dr. of BBQ.

“Jack” as he was known by his friends and family, began his radio career in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1972, and began his Springfield radio career in 1976. His most recent radio position was Morning Show Host at WTAX from 2002 until 2003. Jack then was owner of the Dr. of BBQ restaurant until November of last year.
