Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards says the human remains found in Rochester last weekend do not belong to Michelle Bianco, who’s been missing since 2008.

Rumors began swirling shortly after the remains were discovered. Bianco was last heard from near the intersection of Wheeler and South Grand Avenue East. Edwards says dental records don’t match up, but it’s still too early to make a positive identification.

The investigation continues and Edwards, who initially said there were no clear signs of a homicide, now says it’s likely the woman was murdered because items were stacked on top of the body in the shed.
