A 79-year-old Clinton man is dead following a fire on November 20th. Lubertus Van Apeldoorn was taken to Springfield Memorial after being found during the fire at this home. He died a couple days later. Autopsy results indicate he died from thermal injuries sustained in the fire. The death remains under investigation by the coroner and the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
