Macoupin county authorities and Illinois state police have now have an id and a suspect in custody in the case of a man found dead in Virden Monday night.

the Macoupin county coroner’s office identified the man as 58-year-old John Rennie. Autopsy results are pending, but investigators said they found trauma on Rennie’s body indicating foul play was involved.

And WAND reports a Carlinville suspect is in custody in connection with Rennie’s death. 20-year-old Dalton Obermark left Virden in the wake of Rennie’s death. He was arrested in Russellville, Kentucky Wednesday on obstruction of justice charges.

Obermark is already facing unrelated charges in Logan county, Kentucky, and is refusing extradition to Illinois.
