Due to poor air quality, the Levitt Amp show scheduled for Thursday night has been rescheduled for August 2nd and fireworks will also be rescheduled.

As a smoke blanket from the Canadian wildfires continues to cover the area, one local pulmonologist has some tips to stay healthy. HSHS Medical Group Pulmonologist Dr. Brian Reichardt says it’s important to pay attention to the air quality index and limit your outdoor activities, especially those requiring exertion.  He advises creating an indoor environment that’s clean with doors and windows closed and using an air purifier with a HEPA filter.  If you do have to be exposed for a prolonged period when levels are high, Reichardt advises wearing an N-95 or N-100 mask to filter out the fine particles.

Air quality forecasts and tips on how you can reduce your emissions can be found at airnow.gov.

Air quality is expected to improve throughout the day Thursday.
