Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A longtime Illinois State Fair fixture, the American Business Club of Springfield, will serve as grand marshal for Thursday’s Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade.

Club president Jerry Boster is a banker in his day job, so of course he had to give some numbers.

“One of our most recognized programs is our Amtryke program, which we supply at no charge to mobility-impaired children and veterans,” said Boster. “Between 2023 and 2024, we donated $586.000 to local charities, non-profits, and local scholarships.”

You’ll see the Ambucs around the fairgrounds – including running the admissions – this Thursday through a week from Sunday. The club’s been helping the fair since 1954.
