Meet Serenity — Friends of SCACAC Dog of the Week

Serenity Photo: Sangamon County/Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Intake at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center is currently very high. Every inch of available space is being used to house the dogs and cats that keep coming into the facility. We need help from the community to adopt or foster dogs so we can make room for the new dogs that arrive daily. Every dog that is adopted or fostered makes kennel space for another dog.

Unfortunately, many of the dogs in our care have been waiting months for an adopter to choose them. Serenity is one of those dogs. This pretty girl came to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center in May as an owner surrender. She’s a little over a year old and is very friendly with her volunteer friends. Serenity walks nicely on a leash and loves to play in the play yard. She has a sweet personality and always has a smile on her face.

If you’re looking for a new best friend, please come meet Serenity. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. Serenity is available for adoption, foster or foster to adopt. Staff will be happy to explain your options.
