Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) -It’s brutally cold outside and the kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are full of wonderful dogs looking for a warm and loving home. Our Dog of the Week has been waiting over a month for a cozy spot to call her own.

Meet Maggie, a one-year-old Bassett Hound mix. Maggie is a very pretty and friendly girl. She’s full of energy and loves to be out walking or playing in a play yard. She didn’t seem to mind the cold while we took a walk, but she would rather have a human of her own to snuggle with on a cold day.

Are you looking for a new best friend? Maggie might be the girl for you. Come on out to meet Maggie and all of the other adoptable dogs at SCACAC Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
