Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) –  Looking for a sweet, chill pup with a playful streak? Lexi could be your perfect match!

At just 1 year old, this lovely pit mix is already turning heads at the shelter with her calm and gentle nature. Whether she’s joining in on a playgroup or just quietly observing the fun, Lexi handles it all with poise.

She’s great with other dogs—happy to romp around when the mood strikes, but just as content to relax and watch the action. Lexi also loves people and soaks up social time with staff and volunteers. One of her absolute favorite activities? Playing fetch! She’s all about the game and eager to play with her favorite humans.

Smart and eager to learn, Lexi already knows “sit” and “down,” and with a little training, the sky’s the limit for this bright girl. If you’re looking for a balanced, affectionate young dog who brings both calm energy and playful fun, come meet Lexi—she’s ready to steal your heart (and your tennis balls)!

Come meet her at the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We’re open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
