Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Introducing Everest, our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week. If you’re looking for an energetic new companion, Everest is your guy.

Everest is a year old and he’s been living in a kennel at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center for over a month. That is a shame because this handsome young dog is such a great companion. He walks pretty well on a leash and is friendly with people, but Everest’s favorite thing is playing fetch. He loves to retrieve the ball and would be happy to play for hours. After a fun game of fetch he’s happy to sit in the shade and hang out with his human.

Everest is available for foster, foster to adopt, and adoption. Please come on out and meet him. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.

SPECIAL END OF SUMMER ADOPTION FEES THRU AUGUST 30! ADOPTION FEE ON ALL DOGS AND CATS REDUCED TO $25!!! The kennels are full. Now is the time to adopt your new best friend.
