Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The UIS men’s basketball program has announced the hiring of Zack Jadzak as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. Jadzak brings a wealth of experience from several strong NCAA Division III programs and a proven track record of success both on the court and in recruiting.

“We are thrilled to add Coach Jadzak to our coaching staff,” said UIS head coach Matt Brock. “He has experience and great success as an assistant coach, but what stands out is his ability to quickly connect with people. He is a tireless worker with recruiting ties all over Illinois and the Midwest. Zack will add a lot of value to our program and will be a positive mentor for our student-athletes.”

Jadzak spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Illinois College, where he helped lead the team to a 17-9 record and a No. 3 seed in the conference tournament.

Prior to that, he served four seasons as the associate head coach at Buena Vista University in Iowa. During his tenure, the Beavers reached the conference tournament title game in back-to-back seasons and secured the No. 2 seed in each of those years.

Jadzak held a graduate assistant position at North Central College from 2017-2019, contributing to a combined 42-15 record and two consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.

He began his coaching career in 2014-15 with a stop at Aurora University as an assistant and recruiting coordinator, then Blackburn University in 2015-16 as an assistant coach.

A former player at Saint Ambrose University, Jadzak brings firsthand knowledge of the student-athlete experience and continues to serve as a mentor for student-athletes both on and off the court.

“Thank you to Coach Brock, Athletic Director Mike Hermann, and the rest of the search committee for this amazing opportunity,” said Jadzak. “I am looking forward to working alongside Coach Brock in the pursuit of developing champions on and off the court! UIS has many impressive qualities about it and I cannot wait to get going!”

He rounds out a coaching staff led by head coach Matt Brock and supported by assistant coach Earl Lewis.
