Interfaith breakfast scheduled for Christmas Day

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Temple B’rith Sholom and Temple Israel are excited to announce their partnership in hosting a delightful Christmas morning Interfaith Breakfast.  This heartwarming event aims to bring the community together while also serving a noble cause, as all the proceeds will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Illinois, a respected local organization that serves our local school children.

For 70 years the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCI) have been providing recreational activities, mentoring, tutoring and stewardship programs to local school children.  The After School Program is a year-round priority where nutritional snacks and meals are served to children, many of whom face food instability in their daily lives.  A dramatic reduction in federal funding creates dramatic challenges in meeting the goals of this program.

Join us on December 25 for a morning filled with delicious food and festive cheer.  The pancake breakfast will take place at Temple B’rith Sholom, located at 1004 S. 4th St., from 8:30 to 12:00 noon.  This event promises to be a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends in warmth and fellowship.

Ticket prices are very reasonable.  Adults enjoy a scrumptious breakfast for just $10, while children aged 5 through 12 are $5 and children under 5 are free.  Tickets will be available at the door; cash or check will be accepted making it easy for everyone to join us.

The menu features a flavorful selection, including fluffy scrambled eggs, pancakes hot off the griddle, savory turkey sausage, and juice.  To top it off, guests can enjoy a bottomless cup of Grab-A-Java coffee, ensuring that everyone stays warm and cozy throughout the morning.

This generous event is made possible thanks to our amazing sponsors whose contributions help cover necessary costs, allowing every dollar from ticket sales to go directly towards supporting the BGCCI After School Program.  We also extend our gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and the community for their continuous support and participation which allowed us to bring this event to life.

If you cannot attend but would still like to contribute, we welcome your donations!  Please contact us at tbsholom@gmail.com or call 217-525-1360 for more information on how you can help make a difference for all the students that participate in the BGCCI After School Program.

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing a joyful Christmas morning breakfast while supporting a great cause!
