Historical Society wants women’s baseball and softball artifacts

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Sangamon County Historical Society and the Sangamon Valley Collection are seeking women’s baseball and softball items to borrow. The items can include uniforms, gloves, photos and documents related to teams that played in Sangamon County and players from Sangamon County who played in other communities.

The materials will be used to create an exhibit which will be displayed at the Sangamon County Complex. The deadline is February 10, 2026. The exhibit will be open to the public in May.
