Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – It was not a merry Christmas for one business. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, E.L. Pruitt in Springfield was robbed. A thief made off with more than $4,000 worth of tools and copper piping—and left thousands of dollars in damage behind.

The suspect hit the business, located at 3050 Reilly Drive, twice in two days, according to Springfield police. Each time, officers responded to a burglary in progress but found the business empty when they arrived.

Surveillance video shows the suspect riding away on a bike with a trailer attached. Crime Stoppers is asking for help identifying the individual, and photos of the suspect can be found at cashfortips.us.

If you know anything about the incident, you can submit a tip anonymously through the P3 app, online, or by calling Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427. A tip leading to an arrest could earn you a cash reward of up to $2,500.
