Crime of the Week: Public help needed identifying, finding theft suspects

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify two individuals in reference to a theft and unlawful use of credit cards.

On April 19, 2025, officers received a report of a wallet being stolen and the credit cards being used at various businesses around Springfield.  The suspects, who appear to be a black male and female made several purchases in town totaling over $8,000.00.

If you have any information regarding this incident or can identify the suspects, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website, or use the P3 app. If your tip results in an arrest, you could receive a cash reward up to $2500.
