Crime of the Week: Help needed solving church burglary

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual in reference to a theft that occurred at First Church of God, 2800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., in Springfield.

On April 2, 2025, around 10 pm, an unknown white male suspect forced entry into the church.  Once inside, the suspect took money from a cash box and caused thousands of dollars in damage.  The suspect was wearing light colored clothing, dark colored shoes and was carrying a dark colored drawstring bag.
