Crime of the Week:  Help needed investigating copper theft at local church

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking to assist the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual reference a theft that occurred at Immaculate Conception Church, 524 E Lawrence, in Springfield.

On March 18th, 2025, between 3 and 4 A.M. an unknown suspect stole 4 copper caps that ranged from 3 to 8 feet long.  These caps, that were approximately 50 years old, were valued at $10,000.00 total.   The suspect, appeared to be a white male wearing a black and white camo vest and black hoody.
