Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – As colder weather quickly approaches, community safety is a top priority for the City of Springfield. If you or someone you know needs shelter or homelessness prevention assistance, please call the Heartland Continuum of Care Helpline at 217-803-5235. The Helpline is available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Information about available shelters and other resources is available 24/7 by dialing 211.

Thanks to a strong collaboration with local community partners, the City of Springfield is working to ensure that more emergency beds are available than ever before. Please spread the word and encourage anyone in need to reach out. Stay safe and warm this season!
