Teen injured in Clinton shooting

Clinton, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 16-year-old boy is injured after a weekend shooting in Clinton.

According to a news release from Clinton Police, the shooting happened around 11:30 Sunday night on Business Highway 51, near the intersection of N. Center St. and Woodlawn St., where officers had responded to a report of shots fired.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, where they say he remains in stable condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

An investigation continues into what was described as an “isolated incident,” with there being no further threat to the community.

There is no word on suspects.
